Assisted Agility, Rosettes and more cuddles.......

Clark has had a great week! We have been out for lots of lovely walks and on Sunday we attended our agility club's annual Fun Day, raising lots of money for local animal rescues.

Clark entered a few classes and won Best Rescue, receiving a shiny red ribbon and a huge round of applause from the spectators! The judge evidently knew her terriers ;) and felt that Clark and his story of how he came to be in Cornwall was worthy of a 1st prize out of about 20 other dogs.

He was wonderful with all the crowds and lots and lots of dogs to sniff and wag his stump at. He also met some children whom he was very calm around. Their parents were fantastic and gave them good instruction on how to approach him and not to get 'in his face'. They were a pleasure to talk to and kept coming back to say hello to Clark throughout the day.

Clark proudly wore is 'Adopt Me' coat and we had so many people asking about his story and many many asked to have a cuddle. Clark took it all in his stride and was more than happy to have a few pats and chats.

We also had a go at agility with him....... well, more of a highly assisted, slow, walk around the course but we achieved a clear round - a 'without time restricted' and very generous clear round ;) but a clear round all the same. There were 8 small jumps that we walked over, a hoop, a tunnel and 6 weaves. He was very keen as after every one he had a treat.......its surprising what a little bit of sausage can do!

And we're off...

Jump 2 successfully taken....

Not sure about this purple hoop,,,,,more sausage required!

And we're through...

Over we go......slowly

Hmmmm, might need some help with this one....
Not very elegant but Clark needed some reassurance

Here he is, sausage as a reward for being so brave

OK then just a little bit more

Almost there...

Now the weaves......follow your nose Clarky

Gently does it....

Last pole to go....

And across the finish line...... woooohooooo

A very proud moment! A Clear Round Rosette!
He is growing more confident and happier by the day and after being with us for 18 weeks today he is a different dog. He is a very special boy and his continuing treatment is giving him the very best opportunity to become as well as he can be.

Posing with their winnings!
